We have been silent lately, the reason being that our routine has been upset by activity around Serge’s new boat christened Middleton, the stern of which is shown in the photo. Middleton has been the subject of all our attention because on Wednesday, January 14, she will be crated before leaving Le Havre for Reunion Island. Among the things that had to be done before departure: a new coat of paint, application of name stickers, installation of ropes, verification of watertightness, small repairs, final adjustments, inventory of stowed goods such as food and the pharmacy and packing of all the supplies. With Bertrand and Pierre Katz, all our energy has gone to preparing Middleton for this first departure toward new waters.
